CFC welcomes FI Capital Ltd. as new Lead Partner for national 2015 Vital Signs ProgramTuesday, July 21st, 2015 | JP Bervoets
(Ottawa, Ontario) July 21, 2015 – Community Foundations of Canada is pleased to welcome FI Capital Ltd as the Lead Partner of the national 2015 Vital Signs Program and the title sponsor of our national Vital Signs report focused on connection and belonging.
Since its creation by the Toronto Foundation in 2001, Vital Signs has used community knowledge to measure the vitality of our communities. Today, Vital Signs is a national program involving more than 50 community foundations across the country, and it continues to grow every year, both across Canada and internationally.
The Vital Signs program gathers data and publishes reports on significant social and economic trends to tell the story of how Canadian communities are faring in key quality-of-life areas. As part of this national program, Community Foundations of Canada launches a national report annually that brings together data, stories and expert insight from communities across the country. Vital Signs engages Canadians in a deeper discussion about issues such as poverty, food insecurity and youth unemployment to help communities act on local priorities and opportunities
As a Lead Partner for the national 2015 Vital Signs Program, FI Capital Ltd. will work with Community Foundations of Canada to strengthen our understanding of the role that connection and belonging plays in communities across the country, and the steps we can take collectively to build strong and resilient communities where we all belong.
“We are pleased to have FI Capital Ltd. at the helm to support our national Vital Signs program, helping Canada’s community foundations use Vital Signs as an innovative tool to mobilize community knowledge into action,” says Ian Bird, President of Community Foundations of Canada. “FI Capital Ltd.’s contribution gives us an opportunity to explore the importance of fostering greater connection, inclusion, pluralism and participation within our communities”.
