Community Foundations of Canada set to explore Sustainable Development Goals at North American Community Foundations SummitFriday, February 2nd, 2018 | JP Nikota
Community Foundations of Canada is excited to announce our participation at the North American Community Foundations Summit Feb. 5–6 in Mexico City.
We are proud to co-host the event alongside our Mexican counterpart Comunalia, as well as Council on Foundations from the United States. We also would like to recognize the support of Foundant Technologies for their support of this event as well as the Toronto Foundation, which has provided subsidies so that other Canadian foundations could participate.
The Summit will bring together representatives from across Canada, Mexico and the United States and will highlight how the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals allow us to understand how the work being done by our movement at the local level can have a global impact.
We are delighted to have community foundations representatives from across Canada, as well as our President Ian Bird, CEO Andrew Chunilall and other members of the Community Foundations of Canada team speaking at various sessions at the event. You can consult the full agenda on the Summit website.
In the spirit of cross-border collaboration, we are eager to learn with and from international colleagues, but also to contribute some of the lessons we have learned about how the SDGs have the capacity to facilitate our efforts to foster belonging and continue our journey of reconciliation.
In the days following the Summit, we look forward to sharing some of our key takeaways with you, and we hope that you will join in the conversation regarding the SDGs using the hashtags #NACFSummit and #SDGCanada.
