Erin’s career began in the sport world – first as a figure skating coach, then internationally using sport as a tool for community development, and finally in Canada connecting sport leaders and enthusiasts to public policy. Erin brings a wealth of transferable skills to role as CFC’s Director of Leadership Initiatives, including extensive experience in facilitating collective approaches to solving complex issues, community development and engagement activities.
With experience living overseas and as the wife of a Canadian immigrant, Erin has developed an understanding for what it means to adapt to living a foreign place. She is the founder of a newcomer skating program, believing that sport’s universal language can bring people together, and has a passion for connecting low-income and newcomer communities to sporting opportunities.
Erin finds joy as a backyard vegetable gardener, playing guitar, teaching skating, hiking in the Gatineau hills and playing trucks/soccer/hockey/hide-and-seek with her husband and two energetic boys.
