Hosting a community conversation for Canada’s 150th

Community Foundations of Canada, along with our partners, have been bringing groups together to talk about what Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation could look like for our country since 2013.

In January 2015, we launched Alliance 150, followed by a cross-country roadshow that brought organizations and individuals together in Ottawa, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Halifax to explore what Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation could look like for their communities, their networks, and for the country.

The Alliance continued to convene these conversations at the regional level in 2016, but local organizations and networks are also encouraged to host their own Canada 150 conversations in their communities.

While smaller, these local conversations can still leverage the existing resources and brand of the Alliance to promote the event, set the agenda, and keep the momentum going after the event is over.

In this guide, you will find a series of tools and resources that will help you every step of the way. If you have any questions about hosting an event, please contact us at communications@alliance150.ca.
