Rideau Hall Foundation
The Rideau Hall Foundation was established during the Right Honourable David Johnston’s mandate as governor general of Canada to strengthen the ability of the Governor General to better serve Canadians through a range of initiatives linked to learning, leadership, giving, and innovation.
Over the years our movement has developed a unique working relationship with Rideau Hall and Canada’s Governor General – one that began with the Governor General becoming Community Foundations of Canada’s first patron and which has matured through Smart & Caring Communities and the Queen Elizabeth Scholars program.
In 2013, Community Foundations of Canada and the community foundation network were invited to be among the organizations playing a role in the incubation of a new foundation for Canada – the Rideau Hall Foundation. We have been proud to be a part of the Rideau Hall Foundation’s establishment to support initiatives that build our identity, build capacity and promote the advancement of a caring nation.
