Unifor is Canada’s largest private sector union, with more than 310,000 members across the country, working in every major sector of the Canadian economy. Unifor is a progressive union focused on creating fairer, more inclusive workplaces and local unions, and a more just and equitable world.
Unifor’s Social Justice Fund (SJF) is an expression of the union’s philosophy of ‘social unionism:’ working to improve conditions for other workers, their families, and their communities. As a registered charity, Unifor’s SJF supports a diverse array of organizations in their efforts to bring positive change to the lives of others. These projects, based in Canada and internationally, focus on issues related to peace and security, humanitarian relief, human rights, labour rights, empowerment of women, homelessness, refugees, food banks, women shelters, and Indigenous reconciliation.
Unifor is partnering with Community Foundations of Canada and the 4Rs Youth Movement to engage young people from coast to coast to coast to promote reconciliation and create communities where everyone belongs.
