World Refugee Day takes flight across Canada

Today, on June 20, Canadians and the international community are participating in World Refugee Day – a global day of action dedicated to recognizing the strength and resilience of the refugees around the world.

Across the country community foundations, local charities and our partners are standing #WithRefugees to mark World Refugee Day.

Community Foundations of Canada has joined forces with Canada’s leading aid agencies to partner in the “Help Them Dream Again” campaign being led by the Humanitarian Coalition that will raise awareness and vital funds to help relieve the suffering of the 60 million displaced people around the world, more than half of whom are children.

Our Welcome Fund for Syrian Refugees is also getting a boost thanks to the generous support and collaboration of PayPal Canada. The company is launching an online giving campaign targeting the PayPal user community across Canada. From June 20 – July 4, 2016, PayPal will add an extra 1% to all gifts made through their platform to help donations reach even further.
