Storytelling can capture an audience, showcase important work, and move people to action. CFC’s Transformation Storytelling Fellows will facilitate an interactive session focusing on storytelling to reimagine futures and bring in case studies from the CFC network. They will examine how people can use storytelling to move toward systems transformation and explore the innovative ways in which community foundations can leverage the Vital Signs program as a dynamic platform for storytelling. Vital Signs, Canada’s most extensive community-driven data program, has traditionally been associated with data-driven insights. However, it can also be a tool to weave together the compelling stories that shape their communities’ identities. Participants will leave with ideas, inspiration, and tools for their own work.

You will leave this session with an understanding of:

  • How to build a storytelling team when you are working with communities;
  • Understanding the role of storytelling in transforming systems; and
  • How to approach and work with communities to tell their stories.

This session is available to community foundations that are members of the CFC network and is useful to community foundation staff and leaders who are looking to create more storytelling opportunities. This session is led by Inda Intiar, Njoki Mbũrũ, and Andrew Paul.
