Raised in a rural community with a deep connection to the land, Sheena carries a lifelong respect for place and people. Currently living at the headwaters of the Columbia River which runs through and is the unceded territories of the Secwépemc and Ktunaxa people, Sheena believes in the power of creativity and resiliency in building strong communities. With a background in education, Sheena has worked in the non-profit and public sector for over 17 years in various capacities including community development, people engagement, organization learning and recreation. She most recently worked at the intersection of technology and volunteerism. She thrives when building relationships that nurture and empower people. She previously served as a board member of the Columbia Valley Community Foundation, including as Chair of the Community Granting Committee.
