The housing crisis is a pressing issue affecting communities from coast to coast to coast. The lack of affordable housing, rising rents, and inadequate housing conditions have far-reaching implications for individuals, families, and society at large. To tackle this complex challenge, it is essential to explore innovative and sustainable solutions that prioritize equity and social well-being. In this session with Michele McMaster, Vice President of Housing & Community Strategy at Habitat from Humanity Canada, we will delve into the multifaceted nature of the housing crisis and discuss how Habitat for Humanity works to bring communities together and help families build strength, stability, and independence through affordable home ownership.

You will leave this session with an understanding of:

  • The scale and scope of the housing crisis across Canada,
  • Habitat for Humanity’s work to build affordable ownership housing, and
  • What you as community foundations can do.

This session is available to community foundations that are members of the CFC network, and will be useful for all staff of community foundations.
