Climate investing is the practice of directing financial resources towards companies, projects, and initiatives that actively contribute to mitigating climate change, promoting renewable energy, and building a more sustainable and resilient future. 

In this session, led by CFC sustainability partner Jarislowsky Fraser Ltd., we will delve into the fundamentals of climate investing, its importance, explore how community foundations can align their financial goals with their environmental values, and share success stories from community foundations. There will also be peer-to-peer discussion.  

You will leave this session with an understanding of:

• The various approaches and strategies used in climate investing, such as ESG integration, impact investing, and divestment,
• Avenues for community foundations to actively participate in climate investing and contribute to positive environmental outcomes, and
• The concept of climate investing and its significance in addressing climate change challenges.
