Speakers:
Sharon Hobenshield belongs to the House of Malii from the Gitxsan First Nation on her mother’s side and has German-Settler ancestry on her father’s side. She carries the Gitxsan name Ha-Youly and has worked on Coast Salish Territory on Vancouver Island as a social worker, educator, administrator and as of October 2021, in the position of Executive Director at the Kw’umut Lelum Foundation.
Tracey Brown was born and raised on Vancouver Island, including many years on Gabriola, Tracey brings both local insight and a deep commitment to building stronger, more connected communities. Known for her ability to foster meaningful relationships across the region, Tracey leads the Nanaimo Community Foundation with both heart and vision.
