Foundation Essentials 101 is an interactive online learning cohort designed for Executive Directors who are new to leading a community foundation. Through six 90-minute sessions, participants will build foundational knowledge, connect with peers, and gain practical insights to support them in their leadership role.
Together, the cohort will explore the history and evolving role of community foundations, leadership and governance, grantmaking, effective communications, and emerging issues shaping philanthropy. Sessions will also create space to consider the many roles community foundations play within their communities and the broader philanthropic ecosystem.
Each module builds on the one before it, so participants are encouraged to commit to the full six-session series. Sessions run for 90 minutes and combine practical information, facilitated discussion, peer learning, and time to connect with fellow Executive Directors.
