Community Foundations work with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally. A fiduciary is a person or organization that acts on behalf of a community foundation. One might ask: what is a fiduciary? 

In this session, join Leith Wheeler Investment Counsel portfolio managers Dalyce Seitz and Michael Schaab to learn more about how to define the role of a fiduciary on the investment committee. Participants will examine how to make decisions and the importance of developing a well-documented decision-making process. 

In this session, you will learn how to: 

  • Identify the role and responsibility of a fiduciary in your community foundation 
  • Explore how decisions are made in an investment committee 
  • Examine the duty of care and duty of loyalty as a fiduciary
