Smaller community foundations work diligently to promote community development despite limited staff and resources. This session will explore the unique challenges and opportunities faced by rural community foundations, offering practical insights and strategies for enhancing their capacity and impact. Participants will learn about the essential roles of small foundations in local development and addressing community needs. The session will also cover effective methods for increasing operational capacity, such as leveraging volunteers, forming strategic partnerships, and utilizing technology. Join Thiloma Hofer, Executive Director of the Columbia Valley Community Foundation as she shares her experiences leading her foundation and lessons learned along the way.
