Work performance, contributions, and values can be perceived differently based on race, sex, gender, age, and other factors. Coined by Kimberlé Crenshaw (1991), intersectionality states consideration must be given to interlocking systems of oppression, including patriarchal, racial, or economic. Intersectionality illuminates the complexities of identities and the value of acknowledging differences and overlapping axes of identity. Ruth Mojeed Ramirez, Chief Equity Officer at the Inclusion Project, will lead this session.

In this session, you will:

  • Explore intersectionality, its origins and key concepts associated with it
  •  Be equipped with knowledge and tools to promote gender equality
  • Gain skills to apply an intersectional lens to various social issues, policies, and practices, enabling you to make more informed and equitable decisions

This session is open to any member of the public.
