Tsion Mormora is the Accounting Coordinator at Community Foundations of Canada, where she combines her accounting experience with an interest in technology to strengthen financial processes and support effective decision-making.
Originally from Ethiopia, Tsion holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and has a background in information technology. Early in her career, she worked as a Program Facilitator on World Food Programme (WFP) initiatives focused on HIV/AIDS. Her commitment to community also took shape through volunteering with organizations supporting orphaned and vulnerable children.
After moving to Canada, Tsion continued her education in Business Accounting at Algonquin College and built her Canadian accounting career across accounting firms, the construction sector, and nonprofit organizations. Her interest in community service has continued as a volunteer with Ottawa Therapy Dogs.
Tsion is naturally curious and values continuous learning, particularly as technology and AI continue to reshape the world of finance. Outside of work, she enjoys road trips, travelling, discovering local cafés, and maintaining strong connections with family and friends.
