For The Future Of…, the theme of CFC Conference 2027, invites us to imagine and shape what’s next for our communities and our network.
We want For The Future Of…2027 to reflect the diversity of community foundations across Canada. Thanks to the generosity of community foundations and partners, bursaries are available to help reduce financial barriers and support participation from staff and volunteers across the CFC network.
If attending For The Future Of… 2027 would be difficult for your community foundation without financial assistance, we encourage you to apply.
About the Program
The Community Foundation Bursary Program helps offset conference registration costs for community foundations that may otherwise find it difficult to attend.
Staff, volunteers, and board members from CFC member community foundations in good standing are eligible to apply for bursary support.
Each community foundation may submit one application, identifying up to two delegates.
What the Bursary Covers
Each bursary provides $1000 toward one conference registration.
The remaining member registration fee is expected to be approximately $325, plus travel, accommodations, and personal expenses.
Conference registration includes:
- Two breakfasts
- Two lunches
- Refreshment breaks
- One evening host event
How to Apply
Complete the online application form by September 25, 2026.
The application asks for:
- Information about your community foundation
- The names of up to two proposed delegates
- A few questions to help the CFC Conference Team understand how attending the conference would benefit your organization and community
How Applications Are Assessed
Applications will be reviewed after the deadline by the CFC Conference Team.
Our priority is to support participation from as many community foundations as possible by funding one delegate per eligible organization before considering requests for additional bursaries.
If funding remains, additional bursaries will be allocated through a random draw among eligible applicants requesting additional support.
Successful applicants will receive a confirmation email and registration code before conference registration opens in Fall 2026.
Eligibility
To receive and use a bursary:
- Your community foundation must be a CFC member in good standing.
- Membership dues for 2027 must be paid before the conference.
- The bursary must be used by a staff member, volunteer, or board member from the applying community foundation.
If the original delegate is unable to attend, the bursary may be transferred to another eligible delegate from the same community foundation. If your organization is unable to use the bursary, please let us know as soon as possible so it can be offered to another member.
