Geneviève joined Community Foundations of Canada in January 2018. She brings more than ten years in progressively senior communications roles in the arts and culture as well as non-profit sectors. Most recently, as Director, Marketing Communications for the Canada Council for the Arts, she helped raise the organization’s media and brand awareness in Canada and abroad. She also led strategic communications during the transformation of the Canada Council’s funding model — the organization’s most significant change in its sixty year history. She is passionate about digital and community engagement and the possibilities of using creative and thoughtful content strategies to connect individuals and communities in new ways. Prior to her time at Canada Council, Geneviève worked as a communications specialist with a range of arts funders and non-profit organizations in Toronto, Montreal and New Zealand.
A Montréalaise and avid traveler, Geneviève seeks out great coffee (and croissants when available) wherever she goes, as well as running routes and welcoming yoga communities. She sits on the Board of Directors of Hands On Media Education, a not-for-profit dedicated to building digital literacy and critical thinking for youth. She is also a member of the Editorial Committee for The Philanthropist. In her downtime, Gen loves to spend time in the outdoors in the Gatineau Hills and Laurentians with friends and family and Hunter the dog.
