Community Foundations of Canada (CFC) welcomes the invitation, alongside the Canadian Red Cross and United Way Centraide Canada, to submit a proposal to the Government of Canada for the Community Services Recovery Fund (CSRF). The CSRF is a $400 million investment that will help charities and nonprofits adapt and modernize to strengthen the sector as it supports communities to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The CSRF extends the support for communities provided by the Government of Canada’s $350 million Emergency Community Support Fund (ECSF). In this fund, Community Foundations of Canada, the Canadian Red Cross and United Way Centraide Canada combined their national reach and local expertise to flow money quickly to where it was most needed. The CSRF is an opportunity to continue supporting charities and nonprofits from coast to coast to coast.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic was declared, community-based charities and non-profit organizations have been working tirelessly to respond to the needs of communities. The COVID-19 pandemic continues to have a disproportionate impact on people experiencing heightened vulnerability in Canada. As we look towards recovery, CSRF can help ensure no one is left behind.
